Is the IBC connector for pallet containers with GZ/GW, polypropylene compatible with all standard IBC container threads per DIN EN 12713 and suitable for use up to 7 bar?

Yes. The IBC connector for pallet containers with GZ/GW, polypropylene is fully compatible with standard IBC container threads per DIN EN 12713: it features an external trapezoidal thread compliant with that standard and an internal thread, and these trapezoidal threads are 100% compatible with IBC container threads from various manufacturers. It is also suitable for use up to 7 bar (working pressure specified up to 7 bar). Material: polypropylene; seal: LDPE; operating temperature range: -10°C to +70°C (temporarily up to +80°C).

Can the IBC connector for pallet containers with GZ/GW, polypropylene withstand temperatures up to +80°C temporarily without seal failure?

Yes. The IBC connector for pallet containers with GZ/GW, polypropylene is specified for an operating temperature range of -10°C to +70°C and can tolerate temperatures temporarily up to +80°C without seal failure. The connector body is polypropylene and the seal is low-density polyethylene (LDPE); the manufacturer explicitly allows short-term exposure to +80°C. Ensure exposure is genuinely temporary and avoid sustained high-temperature or high-pressure combinations (working pressure up to 7 bar) to prevent accelerated seal aging or deformation.

Can the IBC connector for pallet containers with GZ/GW, polypropylene be used with LDPE seals for corrosive chemicals?

IBC connector for pallet containers with GZ/GW, polypropylene equipped with LDPE seals can be used with corrosive chemicals. answer: it depends; generally not recommended without chemical compatibility verification. Why: - Material of connector: polypropylene (PP) has good chemical resistance to many acids, alkalis and solvents, but not to all corrosive substances (e.g., strong oxidizers, some aromatics, chlorinated hydrocarbons, concentrated nitric acid at elevated temperature). - Seal material: LDPE offers decent resistance for many chemicals but is softer and less chemically resistant than highâperformance elastomers or fluoropolymers; LDPE can swell, soften or degrade with aggressive solvents, strong oxidizers, concentrated acids or certain organic solvents. - Operating limits: connector rated for working pressure up to 7 bar and temperature â10°C to +70°C (temporarily to +80°C). Elevated temperature and pressure accelerate chemical attack and permeation. Recommendation: - Check the exact chemical (concentration, temperature, presence of mixtures or oxidizers). Consult chemical compatibility charts for PP and LDPE or contact the chemical supplier. - For aggressive or unknown corrosives, use connectors/seals made from materials with proven compatibility (e.g., HDPE, PTFE, FEP, EPDM, Viton®/FKM) or specified by manufacturer for that chemical. - If approved for use, validate with a compatibility certificate from the connector manufacturer and perform periodic inspection for swelling, cracking, leaks or stress corrosion. Conclusion: Do not assume safe use of IBC connector for pallet containers with GZ/GW, polypropylene with LDPE seals for corrosive chemicals without explicit compatibility verification for the specific chemical, concentration and service conditions.
